The Carthusian horse has somewhat average proportions. It has a spirited temperament and a very mild and noble character. These horses have fair response and reactions – something interesting for a horse. They are hardworking and resistent and they have a shiny and spirited look.

 Caarthusian horses have outstanding elevations and extensions and the coats which are most common with these horses are respectively dapple grey, chestnut and black coats, also very rarely, but sometimes bay.

The average height for this breed is about 15 to 16 hands. They have a light and elegant head with somewhat slightly convex profile. Also, their necks are very well proportioned and the ears – small, unlike their big eyes.
